Buttercup, Bluebell and Dafodil Blog - Friday 14th November 2025

Happy Friday Everybody!

Our apologies if the children came home a little 'chocolatey' on Tuesday and Wednesday this week! We have been exploring how heat can effect different materials and investigated the melting point of chocolate by holding it in our hands. The children had great fun licking it off!

Forest school starts next week for Key Stage 1. Bluebell and Buttercup Class have a session each on Tuesday and Daffodil Class have their session on Wednesday. Can the children please wear their school uniform to school and bring a change of clothes and wellies in a bag with them. We need them to change for the sessions so that they don't sit in wet or muddy clothes all day! It would be unfair to expect parents to buy full waterproof clothing this close to Christmas and the shelter isn't quite as far along as we had hoped. We will review the situation after Christmas. In the meantime, if you need an idea for a Christmas gift, a camping mug will be put to very good use at Forest School. We will be having hot chocolate drinks to keep us warm during the winter months! The is not an essential, must have item (we have some cups!) It's just a gift idea for those that want it.

Spellings

New spelling sheets are in the children's bags along with this week's Animaphonics books.

Thank you so much for all of your support at home. Your efforts really do help your child's confidence and fluency in Maths and Reading.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Best wishes

The Key Stage 1 Team x
