Bluebell, Buttercup and Daffodil Blog 12th June 2026

Happy Friday, everybody!

We have been learning about holidays in the past this week and have created some excellent timelines and captions to demonstrate our learning! We will continue to learn about the seaside over the next few weeks. We've all had a great day so far celebrating our TTRS day. We had a special assembly and have learned to play the 'C'  chord on the ukulele! Photos will feature in our newsletter.

Please see note below from Miss Harvey about our book fair competitions!

Book Fair Competitions

To be in with a chance to win a £5 voucher for the Book Fair, we are holding some competitions for you to enter.

There are 5 vouchers up for grabs so 5 competitions are running.

They are:

Competition 1: Everyone - Design a new wand and include a description explaining what it is made from.

Competition 2: EYFS/ KS1 - Design a new front cover for your favourite book.

Competition 3: KS2 -  Design a new front cover for your favourite book.

Competition 4: EYFS/ KS1 - Design a bookmark.

Competition 5: KS2 - The most words read on Accelerated Reader the week before (these will be checked by Miss Harvey in school).

These can be done on paper and given to Miss Harvey or you can even use Google Drive to create your entry digitally. You  can enter more than one competition as long as it is for your phase.

All competition entries to be in by Friday 12th June and the winner will be announced in assembly on Monday 15th June

Winners will receive a £5 voucher for the book fair and everyone who enters will receive 5 Dojos.

The Book fair is running from Monday 15th to Friday 19th June and there is a 3 for 2 offer so please come along to support the school.

**There will be no book fair on Thursday 18th June due to the Father’s Day sale**

The book fair is arriving next week Monday to Thursday and will run straight after school until 3:45. We will have a card machine and no cash will be taken.

Homework

Early reading comprehension page 8

First reading comprhension pages 12-13

Both year groups have their spellings or reading practice sheets and new Animaphonics books in their bags.

Don't forget to keep up all your fantastic efforts with your reading at home - it will make a huge impact on your child's reading development. Keep using the range of questions and guidance in the back of the books as well.

The children are nearly at the end of another school year, Please support us in encouraging their independence by allowing them to walk into school by themselves. They manage to walk to the classroom on their own after break and lunch each day, so we know that they can do it. Thank you!

If you have any issues or questions, please come and see us at the end of the day - we would love to see you then!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Best wishes

Mrs O'Connor, Miss Langley, Mrs Holmes, Miss Bridges and Miss Smith x
