Amethyst, Diamond & Emerald Blog - Friday 11th February 2022

Happy Friday, everybody! We hope you have had a super first half to the Spring Term - it has certainly felt a bit more like normal and it was wonderful to be involved with Wear It Red day and take part in the PTA's Coin Run today. Massive thank you to everyone in the PTA for putting the event on today - all the children loved it! Here is a link to our events page with some photos of all the children in action!

Coin Run 2022

Collection Arrangements

It has been lovely to welcome everyone onto the playground this week to collect the children at the end of the day. Don't forget you are more than welcome to come and have a chat with us at the end of the day if there are any small issues that you want to discuss. Please do not see the steps as a wall! We would love to chat with you if there is anything you need to know.

Colchester Castle Payment

Big thank you to everyone who has already paid for the Colchester Castle trip via Scopay. The cost to cover the admission and coach is £14 (down from £17 due to the PTA's contribution) but is not due until Friday 4th March.

Mid-Year Report

Your child will come home with their Mid-Year Report today detailing the areas that we will be focusing upon over the remaining weeks of this academic year. You are now able to sign up for a slot to have a meeting with your child's class teacher on Friday 25th February - this can be via a Zoom call or an in-person meeting. Please use Scopay to book this appointment.

If you wish for the meeting to be face-to-face, please email us after you have made the appointment to inform us of this.

Below is a link to the letter regarding these meetings for further details.

Half Term Homework

We have sent home a slightly different home work activity for half term. It is linked to our project of "The Quest" and our work in learning about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The task should be clear and we have already discussed it with the children. Feel free to record as much or as little as you see appropriate for your child. The most important aspect of the homework is the discussion between yourself and your child about what their rights are. Hopefully they can educate you about these rights!

Please note our email will not be monitored during half term but we look forward to seeing you all again on Monday 21st February.
